Opioid use disorder (OUD) is a chronic mental health disease and the good news is that buprenorphine/naloxone (name brand Suboxone or Zubzolv) and naltrexone (name brand Vivitrol) are evidence-based methods for treating people with opioid use disorder. They reduce risk of relapse and overdose death and return individuals to a sense of feeling “normal.” In combination with therapy, Medication for Opioid Use Disorder Treatment (MOUD) can help an individual regain what they have lost due to substance use and pursue their own personal and health goals. See this link for more information.
Individuals who have insurance and want to seek reimbursement may be seen on a traditional fee-for-service basis (see non-member pricing). A membership is ideal for those not using insurance and also includes all the benefits other DPC members enjoy with a copay for MOUD-specific visits.
At Sunflower DPC you can also receive treatment for Alcohol Use Disorder. Please contact us for more information!
Ask someone already in treatment and they will tell you that these medications do not “just replace one substance for another.” They don’t make the person feel “high” or develop tolerance like you see with prescription painkillers or heroin. Instead of your brain prioritizing seeking drugs and the many things you’ll do to obtain them, you can focus on your recovery – improved relationships, employment, education, whatever your goals are!
Lab testing done by outside labs is an additional cost and has low prices I’ve worked hard to negotiate on your behalf. I can also help you arrange other low or no cost testing options at your local health department. Although I do not dispense medications, I can help you find out where the best pricing can be found locally.
I look forward to working with you or your family member in finding a safe path to recovery and reaching your own personal goals.
